Spotlight: Christmas Toy Drive!

I am honored to be serving as chairman, along with my co-chair Mitzi Egan, of this year’s annual Christmas Toy Drive sponsored by the Robin Hoods of VDS.

As we prepare to celebrate the coming holiday season, we invite you to take the opportunity to remember the folks less fortunate in our community.

The Christmas Toy Drive begins Nov. 10^th and concludes Saturday Dec. 6^th. 

As in years past, the Angel tree is set up in the Clubhouse just outside the Bistro entrance.  This year’s tree contains tags representing 275 Wimauma children from 110 families from The

Lord’s Lighthouse outreach ministry. https://www.facebook.com/thelordslighthouse/

·VDS residents can pick a Child or Family to purchase gift(s) for:

o   Family tags are hung together on the tree, but feel free to separate.

o   Older children who have asked for Gift Cards Only are on the tree-shaped tags

·Be sure to complete a sign-up sheet:

o   Enter Your Name & Phone Number after the Child or Family selected

·      Return unwrapped gift WITH tag by December 6:

o   Place gift(s) in donation box

We realize we have an aggressive goal this year but, with the VDS community’s support, we will be able to provide a little holiday cheer to some young people who might not be able to experience the joys of the season.

This year’s campaign will culminate with a holiday party at The Lord’s Lighthouse on December 13^th.
