Christmas Toy Drive

VDS resident Joan Ryan-Canu chaired the 2023 Christmas Toy Drive held Nov 15th to Dec 10th.  Additional committee members included Ronni Rubinstein and Cheryl Lesko.

​

The drive benefited the boys and girls of The Lord's Lighthouse, which strives to meet the physical, emotional, and other needs of the most vulnerable and at-risk populations, particularly migrant families in Wimauma, Fla.  

​

This year, more than 200 children from the Lord's Lighthouse received gifts thanks to the generosity of  the VDS Community.

 

The gifts were presented at a Christmas party held at the Lighhouse facility on Saturday, Dec. 22nd. 

​

Notably, we doubled the number of children served in 2022.  Out of 213 hearts placed on the Angel Tree, VDS residents picked 193 of them. 

​

From the hearts that remained, the committee was able to purchase additional gifts with generous on-line donations and checks.
