Chairperson, Clean Your Closet Campaign

Wow, an over the top successful event! 

Sponsored by the Robin Hoods of VDS, the ‘Clean Your Closets’ charity campaign was held Saturday, March 16, 2024 and it was busy from 8:30am until noon, the donation timeframe. 

 

In the end, we filled a Mary & Martha House commercial box truck along with a pickup truck and van with clothing and many other items.

The Mary & Martha House was the beneficiary of the campaign’s donations.This is a Ruskin charity that protects and houses abused families (women & children) until they can get back on their feet, find a job and ultimately provide for themselves.
 

I would like to thank all our volunteers: Susan Wentzell and Lori Pickel for their promotional efforts and all of our members who helped the day of the event: Lynn Kito (campaign co-chair), Joan Ryan-Canu, Joan Williams, Cindy Guillet Beytin, Jim Colitas, Tony Lesko (our Robins Hoods President) and Mike Wilmore (our club VP).    

 

Everyone worked so hard and the donations just kept rolling in. Mike said he wants to be paid teamster union wages for lifting furniture. Tony said Mike can get paid twice what Tony makes as the Robin Hoods president (btw, we’re all volunteers!).  

A big Thank You to all in our VDS community for their contributions. Without you folks, we could not have been so successful and donated to such a worthwhile cause. Check out  some of the photos from the event below.
